about my art…
I started out in my media career as a photographer in 2001, later moving into magazine editing, and then returning to photography. During that time, I worked on various journals and magazines in editor and editor in chief roles.
In 2018 I started my commercial photography business, mainly working on portrait and marketing photography.
Besides being a professional photographer, I developed myself in art and started painting professionally in 2020. My diversity of professions affects my approach in my artworks and complementing my vision of art in an abstract form.
I have a bachelor degree in Archeology and Art History, and a master degree in War History and Strategy. On my 20’s I worked on archaeological sites, specialising in the Prehistoric and Neolithic Age. Those years shaped my perspective about life, widened my understanding of human nature and our core.
Beyond dispute, art has ingrained to our existence, for more than ten thousands of years, regardless to race, geography or cultural background. This reality proves us that we are natural in art. And that is exactly why it naturally connects us without needing an explanation.
Art is not a distraction. On the contrary, it is directing our attention to us. Our core.
As an artist, with my works, I explore the fluidity of life and the ever-shifting energies that shape both personal and collective realities. I don’t seek singular interpretations; instead, I embrace complexity and multiplicity, inviting viewers to find their own meaning within the layers.
I describe my paintings as a balance of destruction and rebirth, a contemporary mysticism of hope, power and ecstasy.
Dynamism and movement, bold colours and layers are the main signatures in my works, which often recall to mythical and ancient features. Mythology is not just some enchanted tales from an unknown time. It consists of metaphors that tell us about our collective inner worlds. From Greek and Northern myths to Lascaux cave paintings, there is a lot to inspire and learn from.
Working primarily with acrylic on large canvases, I integrate oil, mixed media, and textured materials to build rich, and layered surfaces. Cool, calming tones meet bold contrasts, striking lines, and vivid colour, sometimes accented with metallic shades.
As an independent artist, I introduce my works to art lovers by organising solo pop-up art shows, also I exhibited at Holy Art Fair - London and had a solo exhibition in Gallery Marquess - Mayfair London.
